EcoStrong's products were strong. The reviews said so. The repeat purchase rate said so. But the packaging and messaging sent a different signal commodity, undifferentiated, easy to scroll past. In a crowded Amazon category, perception is the product. EcoStrong was losing at the signal level, not the quality level.
